Investment Associate — Industrial & Technology

Overview

Leaf Group NY is seeking an Investment Associate to support deal origination, due diligence, and portfolio management across our industrial and applied technology focus areas.

This role is suited for a disciplined analyst with genuine curiosity about manufacturing, supply chains, and technical systems—someone who prefers depth to speed and understands that patient capital requires careful thinking.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate investment opportunities in precision manufacturing, industrial technology, and engineered systems.
• Lead financial modeling, market research, and operational assessments during due diligence.
• Build relationships with business owners, operators, and industry specialists.
• Support portfolio companies with strategic initiatives, performance tracking, and operational improvements.
• Collaborate with our partners and advisors to refine investment theses and enhance value creation.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation.
• Genuine interest in industrial businesses, manufacturing, and tangible assets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication—able to distill complexity into clarity.
• Self-directed, curious, and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant technical background valued but not required.
